Mock Interview:

A mock interview is a practice interview meant to help you practice for an actual job interview. A mock interview can help you learn how to answer difficult questions, develop new strategies, improve your communication skills, and so on.

Before an interview, you should do research into the company you’re applying for- employers expect you to know things such as how big the company is, who their customers are, their ethos, etc. They want to see that you have a genuine interest in the job and what they do. How you answer questions will be a key factor in their decision, so you should answer questions with confidence and enthusiasm- you should also prepare for possible questions they may ask, this way you enter the interview more confident than you would have had you not prepared.

You should ask a day or two before the interview what the dress code is so that you’re not going to be dressed too casual or too formal for it. Prepare your outfit the night before and make sure your clothes are ironed and shoes are clean.

Plan the route beforehand just so you can make sure that you can get there on time, look at what buses go nearby, look at available parking spaces, etc. First impressions matter, and the last thing you want is to arrive late to an interview!

Bring whatever they tell you you need to bring, whether that be proof of identification or proof of qualifications, but also bring a notebook and pen just in case you need to write anything down. Lastly, get a good night's sleep! You don’t want to be yawning or be tired during your interview, and you also want to give yourself enough time to get ready in the morning.

Research into Channel 4:

Channel 4 is a British free-to-air television network. It is freely available to all of the UK and is home to the UK’s biggest streaming services. Channel 4 was created in 1982 with the purpose of creating change through entertainment by representing unheard voices and reinventing entertainment. Channel 4 works with around 300 creative companies across the UK every year, and Film4 films have produced 144 Oscar nominations and 37 wins.

Film4’s main focus is making, broadcasting and distributing high-quality films intended for theatrical release. In order to work on the Film4 Productions team, you need to be passionate about your work and have a fair amount of knowledge about film. You also need to be able to collaborate and communicate with others as you will be working in a team.

What Went Well:
I talked more than I thought I would and was able to come up with answers to questions off the top of my head since I did not have that much preparation beforehand.

Next Time:
I hope to be more prepared next time so that I know exactly what to say and I don't end up pausing for a long time or stuttering too much. I should probably prepare some questions to ask so that I can avoid any awkward silence.
