Business Card

Business Card:

The business cards I looked at were either too complicated to recreate, or too simple to draw attention, and instead of choosing one or the other, I just decided to take a few ideas from both and put them into my business card design. This first business card has all the necessary information needed to contact the person who made the card, as well as their logo and what they are/what they do. This other business card is more colourful and has more text on it, which means it may take a minute to find the necessary contact information on it.

For my business card, I wanted something simple but not boring with basic information like phone number, email, website, and any other necessary information that a client might need to know to get in contact with me. I used a website called Pixlr to create it. On both the front and back of my card, I have my logo, which i coloured white so that it stands out from the dark blue background. I want clients or whoever has my card in their possession to be able to see who’s it is regardless of which side they look at. On the back, I have my phone number, email and website name (none of those are on the card shown since it is just a design), and they have little icons next to each of them. A phone icon next to the phone number, a letter next to the email, and a world wide web icon next to the website. I added a line to break up the contact information from the logo just for fun. The three coloured lines on the top and bottom of the card are just there to add extra design to the card, as it would be rather boring without them there.

Business Card Feedback:

I asked the same questions I asked regarding my logo for my business card, the first being what the form fillers thought of my design. They responded that the card looks very professional, and that it has all the information you need which is basically two of the main things you need for your business card. One also added that the colours were a nice touch. When asked if there was anything to improve, most people responded that it was fine the way that it is- some said that they would have preferred brighter colours rather than the dark colours that I used.

It is important to understand that different people have different preferences, and that everyone can't be pleased. Some people like the dark colours that I used in my business card design, and others would have prefered if I used lighter colours. The only way in which I can think to avoid this, is to create multiple business card designs so that I can please both parties, and also let my potential clients know that I care about what they think and that I'm willing to act in accordance with their wants.
